Carmel River State Beach

Nice mile long beach in Carmel, CA. Named “River Beach” since a river runs into the ocean at this point. Nice white sand beach! There is a bird sanctuary  “The Wetlands Natural Reserve” with a wide variety of birds. This is a stop for migratory birds and is part of the Central Coast Birding Trail.  The Carmel River Lagoon is at the North end.

Pets: Dogs allowed but must be on leash.
Bathrooms: Yes
Handicap Access: Bathrooms accessible.
Warnings:  Not a swimming or wading beach. Extremely dangerous!
