Where the Deer Are
El Carmelo Cemetery – Where the deer and the – ok, just the deer. Lots of grass, very quiet and peaceful. Late evening just before sunset you will frequently find herds of deer here.
Memorial day can be a treat – for the deer and those who watch. After most of the visitors are gone, the deer wander thru and munch the flowers left on the graves. I watched one Doe raise her head and look at me – flowers dripping from her mouth…
Had a friend die a few years ago. One of her requests was that all the flowers be left for her friends the deer. I smile and think of her when I visit and see deer wandering around here.
Please remember – these are wild animals. Do not feed them or approach too closely!
