If you haven’t been to Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park – your are missing out. A key feature of the park is the 80 ft. high waterfall that goes off the cliff into the ocean. Great views of the ocean, redwood trees and more. To get there – go 37 miles on Highway One, south of Carmel.
Whale Watching: Outlook Trail is a good spot in December & January to watch the southern migration of the gray whles. They go to Baja California which is their calving and breeding grounds. In March & April you have the migration of the gray whales south to their feeding grounds in the North Pacific Ocean.
Camping: Only Two sites. Campsites with food boxes, picnic tables and a fire ring. Running water only across Highway One near the restrooms. Chemical (pit) toilets in the campground area. Mostly day use!
